Saints Ready to 'Pack the Jack' For Presidents Cup

The St.Catharines Saints are pleased to announce they will now be hosting the 2015 Presidents Cup National Senior Lacrosse Championship August 31 - September 5 at Jack Gatecliff Arena located inside the Garden City Complex. The weeklong tournament was originally scheduled to be played at the Seymour Hannah Sport and Entertainment Centre.

"We are really excited to get the opportunity to host the Presidents Cup at the "Jack"," said St.Catharines Saints President/General Manager Dave Colbourne. "It’s the arena we wanted from the start; it’s an old classy building with a lot of history. We know it will be the perfect location to host a national event like this and we are looking forward to putting on a great championship and hopefully bring home another title in front of our own families, friends and great fans."

Jack Gatecliff was built in 1938 and has been upgraded nicely without losing its old time atmosphere. Located at 8 Gale Crescent near downtown St.Catharines, the Jack is close to all amenities and major highways. The arena has a capacity for 3,050 spectators.

The Presidents Cup Committee is still looking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer in advance of and during the 2015 tournament. Prior knowledge or experience in the sport of lacrosse is not necessary. Organizers are looking to engage a diverse group of volunteers who have a passion for athletics, previous event experience, and knowledge of the Niagara Region in order to make the event a success.
