Road To The Presidents Cup

Seven teams have punched their ticket to the 2015 Presidents Cup, joining host St. Catharines Saints. The tournament is scheduled to begin August 31 at Jack Gatecliff Arena.

A quick look at how each team got to Presidents Cup 2015:

  • NSSLL: the four-team circuit will be sending an all-star team, the Nova Scotia Privateers to represent the province. It will mark the first Cup appearance by a Nova Scotia team since 1990.
  • QSLL: making their 2nd trip to the Cup will be the Capital Region Axemen, who swept the Quebec finals series 3-0 over seven-time defending champion Kahnawake Mohawks. In just three seasons Capital Region have played in three league finals.
  • TNSLL: with two league teams on hiatus this season, Snake Island Muskies and Tyendinaga Wolfpack played a partial schedule with the QSLL. Snake Island defeated the Wolfpack 21-9 in the league championship game. The last time Snake Island was in the cup they walked away with a silver medal as host of the 2011 event.
  • Can-Am: defending Cup champion Onondaga Redhawks will return to defend their title. The Redhawks battled league rookies Native Sons LC in five games to win the league championship.
  • OSBLL: Six Nations Rivermen return to the tournament with a three-game sweep of Brooklin Merchants. This three year-old club has played for the league title in each of their seasons, winning back-to-back in 2014 and 2015.
  • RMLL: it took four games for Rockyview Knights to book their spot, defeating St. Albert Miners in the finals. This will be the second appearance for the Knights, who return after a two year absencse.
  • WCSLA: back in the tourney for the third year in-a-row, Nanaimo Timbermen are making their 12th appearance. Nanaimo swept the three-game finals against Ladner Pioneers to earn their trip to St. Catharines.
